Harnessing BIM Technology and Integrated Project Delivery for Sustainable Design

Calvin Kam invited all the bloggers to come up and say a few words. I have to say its a lot easier to hide behind the computer and blog. Here were my closing thoughts.

"I’ve been working on coming up with a motivating metaphor for my experiences. Unfortunately the one I’ve come up with involves visualizing all of you in bathing suits.

Let me explain: I look out in the audience and I see a few types of people. Many of you have taken a big giant leap into the BIM pool years ago and are now reaping the rewards of your struggles. Others have made the transition to BIM but you’re just treading water. But some of you are still tip toeing around the edge testing the water. I hope what you’ve seen over the past few days is that the water is nice! I challenge you to take what you’ve learned here and go back to your firm as a leader. Start discussions and empower those in your firms who are excited about BIM, Sustainable Design, and Integrated Project Delivery.

You can’t learn how to swim if you don’t get in the water."

I hope you've enjoyed the blogs. They'll be up for "awhile" so we'll check in now and then. Feel free to post your comments!

eeek! I did not even want to look up into the audience! How do all the presenters do it?I think I am still shaking-and I have even more respect for everyone!

I've only been working in the BIM world for a few years now, and having this opportunity to be here, to feel like I am part of something huge is absolutely enlightening and inspiring.
As a 'young professional' I'm on my own personal mission to find my career path. Is it in architecture? Is it in engineering? Is it in anything?
I've seen a glimpse into the future, and it has given me a drive, something that I have not felt this passionate since being in school. I hope to keep researching and learning even more, and I want to thank everyone for that!
